Ever wondered what makes the pokies so addictive?
Join us for a free screening of the award winning documentary: Ka-Ching, revealing the hows and whys of the pokies secretive industry and the children’s gaming that has inbuilt grooming for future gambling addictions.

The movie provides an understanding of the multi layered mechanisms that provide the platform for addiction.

After the movie, Ken, a former policeman and recovered gambler will share his personal journey of recovering from a gambling addiction.

We will enjoy supper and hear about the support services and resources available.

About Ken: Ken is all too familiar with prisons. He spent 18 years in the police force before succumbing to the self-inflicted prison of a gambling addiction and ultimately was arrested and jailed for illegally sourcing money. Today, Ken is a councillor, a powerful speaker , and an advocate for ‘responsibility, accountability and honesty’.

When Ken tells his story he is brutally honest and speaks from the heart. He is relatable to many an audience because he is a self-confessed ‘average bloke’, who likes football, loves his family and dotes on his grandchildren.

Together we do better - reducing gambling related harm project.
